How we produce our material and what counts as evidence

Who is responsible for the material

PropRate Editorial is a small independent editorial team behind a Russian-language prop firm rating. To contact the editorial team, use the project's Telegram channel@prop_rate.

How we produce our material

  1. Firm terms (challenges, splits, stop-lists, legal entities, domains) — from primary sources: the firm's website, help centre, official registries. Every fact has a verification date.
  2. Reviews rating — our own Trustpilot measurement (number of reviews, measurement date, link to the profile). The display star score is not used in the rating; it remains a source for our own metric.
  3. Reputation monitoring — independent trader communities and fresh reviews. Every event has a link to the message and a verbatim quote. Every event passes two independent checks: a semantic classification and a skeptical check ("is this a trader's complaint or advertising / a payout congratulation / a reply from the firm itself").
  4. What does NOT count — channels and websites of the firms themselves (shop windows); affiliate and promo channels (identifiable by promo codes and referral links in posts); events without a link. If a firm's non-neutral events come from a single source, they are shown as "a signal to verify" and are not counted.
  5. The PropRate Index — a weighted average of components. The weights are set in code (compute_index.py): site availability 20, rule transparency 25, regulatory and scam risks 25, public reputation 20, age and stability 10. An unavailable component drops out of the denominator; zero is not substituted for it.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish ratings taken from firm shop windows.
  • We do not sell positions and do not let advertising affect the score.
  • We do not treat advertising as a complaint.
  • We do not replace "no data" with "bad".

Corrections policy

Found an error in the data or a statement — write to@prop_rate; we will check and fix it, and the correction is recorded with a date.

Data is updated on a schedule (scheduler time, UTC+3). Order of steps: firm data collection at night, at 04:30; the live reputation measurement and Index recalculation in the morning, at 09:10; the site is built and published twice — the nightly site deploy at 05:15 and again right after the morning measurement, so that the figures on the pages match the day of the measurement.
